Roy Hilton MRICS - Partner
Roy also trained at Sorrell qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor in 1976. Roy specialises in Building Surveying and Valuations including Building Surveys, Condition Reports and advising on Party Wall legislation. Roy is a keen sportsman having represented Essex in hockey and after 34 years is still a regular on the hockey field.
Stephen Knock MNAEA - Partner
Stephen is the third generation of Knocks within the Partnership and is Sorrell's Residential Sales Manager. Stephen worked for a number of plc estate Agency Groups before joining Sorrell in 1996 where he quickly re-established a highly successful Residential Sales Department. Stephen's interests include playing badminton and watching "The Blues", Southend United FC.
Alex Bunney Dip Surv MRICS - Partner
Alex is a Commercial Chartered Surveyor and also comes from a surveying family. His early career was in Residential Estate Agency, moving across to the motor trade and then studying for and being elected a Chartered Surveyor in 2003. Alex joined the practice in 2005 and his area of expertise is landlord and tenant and commercial property valuations.
Karen Maw MIRPM - Head of Department
Our Head of Property Management has over 25 years experience in this field. After qualifying in construction at the London School of Building, Karen started a career in property management. She has a comprehensive knowledge of the business and was amongst the first members of the Institute of Residential Property Managers. Karen specialises in block management for RTM companies, residents associations and resident management companies. She has a full understanding of commercial, lettings and ground rent management, together with an established knowledge of dealing with service charge and lease advice, budget preparation, and start up management of new build developments. Since moving from London to Southend in 2003, she has gained a strong knowledge of the local area.
Tony Plummer - Head of Department
Tony's involvement in property spans his entire working life. Tony worked on the initial construction of Victoria Circus Shopping Centre, then worked at Wimpy as a land buyer followed by 10 years dealing in management and development in Central London before returning to his home town of Southend. Tony's varied career in the property business provides a comprehensive experience of commercial and development work. Tony is well known amongst the local property fraternity and the Southend business community at large.
